AR.Drone By Parrot

Whenever someone mentions the iPhone, people start to compare it with other smartphones and not so smart ones out there.

Well, if you’re an iPhone fan and got fed up with telling everyone around about how powerful the device is, not to mention Augmented Reality applications that are flooding the iTunes app store these day.

Parrot the company that we mentioned in the past when we talked about their Parrot by Starck HiFi speakers, are now taking AR (Augmented Reality) to another level with their new AR.Drone.

AR.Drone is a hi-tech four-propelled ultimate helicopter that features two cameras that can be controlled by an iPhone app over WiFi.

The New AR.Drone takes advantage of the iPhone’s 3 axes accelerometer, that controls its 3 axes gyro sensor, it also offers two cameras (hi-speed & wide-angle) that streams back to the iPhone for accurate piloting.

The iPhone app controls the AR.Drone, and offers two AR solo-games, and multiplayer duel dogfight. The AR.Drone will be launched on March 5, 2010, no prices are set yet, but I recommend surfing to their site to be blown-away with the videos.

Now, can your phone do that?
