Finally the cat is out of the bag. For some time all major publications both print and online have been talking about Apple’s new tablet. And now that everyone knows it’s called the iPad, the whole web is raving about this new revolutionary product.

What’s Up will give you the scoop on what this new product is, and how you can use it, since we predicted the name “iPad” months ahead of its official release. But before we start we will give you a short history lesson.

Apple was established on April 1, 1976 as a garage startup company. In 1983 Apple introduced the world’s first personal computer with a Graphical User Interface and mouse (12 Years before Windows 95).

In 1989 they introduced the World’s first portable computer, and in 1991 the first PowerBook laptop set the standards to all laptops and notebooks till date. 1989 also marked the development of Apple’s Newton, the world’s first PDA (Personal Digital Assistant).

On the 23rd of October, 2001 Apple brought us the first iPod. While 2007 marked the year the iPhone and iPod touch showed us how the future will look. And now 2010 Apple is back with the world’s most advanced technology in a magical revolutionary device… The iPad.

The iPad is a touch screen pad that enables you of browsing the web, check emails, create stunning documents, slideshows, and spreadsheets, enjoy photos, watch HD movies & TV shows, listen to audio, watch YouTube, check Google maps, play games, and run over 140,000 applications available now on the iTunes app store.

That’s is just the tip of the iceberg of what iPad can do, but what is very interesting about this amazing device is that it is the World’s best eBook reader, and magazine & newspaper reader. The touch screen enables you to get the best experience of enjoying any publication, in a natural human way. You might see an iPad version of What’s Up.

The Apple iPad is more like the transition from Black & White TVs to HD LED in one single leap.

    Hello,
Nice article, I like the apple history summary.
About the prediction of tablet’s name; Jesus Tablet was the first to note (Jan 23rd) that Apple may be using ‘iPad’ for the long-rumored tablet. http://www.jesustablet.com/2010/01/company-linked-to-apple-files-for-ipad.html

Official international launch have been delayed due to demand/supply ration to late may.

Shobi, it’s available at various stores through jidda, izone and extra to name a couple. The entry price should be around SAR 2999.
Good Luck, let me know how it works out.
