In this issue I thought I should focus on breakfast, and No I will not start ranting about the fact that breakfast is The Most important meal of the day, this article is about pointing you to unique places where you can get an amazing start to the day.

I will list restaurants based on price range, yet I picked places that offer the best value for your money, along with a friendly environment to enjoy breakfast either on your own or with friends.

SR 100+

HABSBURG @ Corniche, A Rosewood Hotel

As you walk into Habsburg, you will be greeted with a good morning smile by the friendly waiters, who will lead you to your table, and ask you which newspaper you would like to read.

Once you reach the open buffet, you will discover that it is segregated into seven sections.

1- Fresh Bread Zone. They have it all, except the traditional “Shooraik” and “Tamees”, so don’t bother looking for those.

2- International Starter. You won’t be needing a spoon to serve, you can just pick a serving ready-made for you.

3- Fruit Bar. A wide selection of seasonal fruits picked fresh from all around the world.

4- Fresh Bakery & Pastry area. Just stand there and smell the enchanting aroma. Now pick.

5- Traditional Arabic Fool. They got the whole “Jarat Fool” and you can garnish it with anything you want to make it special.

6- Private Chef Zone. Where you can request eggs, waffles, or pancakes.

7- Asia Zone. Offers rice, noodles, and chicken.

Waiter will take care of your coffee, tea, and fresh juice, while you enjoy the beautiful Jeddah morning sea-view.

Casper & Gambini’s @ Al-Andalus St.

Ready to set the mood for the whole day, well nothing better then starting your morning at Casper & Gambini’s, where you can enjoy a warm traditional theme right in the heart of Jeddah. Yet if you would like to start your day on the fast-lane, Casper & Gambini’s offers free WiFi access to get updated on all your emails while you enjoy breakfast. Since they open early to give you enough time to enjoy that special meal.

I recommend the “Labne Morning” since that will transport you to a blissful place on top of a Lebanese Mountain where you’re surrounded with greenery.

But if you have a business deal on mind, then try the Salmon & Eggs Benny, that will surely shift your brain into gear. Here is something I learned while visiting Casper & Gambini’s, they are preparing a new theme for 2009, so get yourself ready for the revolution!

Water Lemon @ Al-Hamrah Corniche

Sit back and enjoy your breakfast in a minamalistic white environment, since this is the color of this season at Water Lemon. Try their Vegetarian Frittata, that will definitely push you to your satisfaction limits from the first bite.

Oh and ask them for the sweet Triple Decker with a glass of fresh milk, that will boost your energy level throughout the day (USE WITH CAUTION, THIS FOOD ITEM COULD SUPERCHARGE YOU!).
