The Exterior:
The Volvo C70 is a full four-seater convertible with retractable hard rooftop. Transforming from a fantastic looking coupe to a gorgeous, streamlined convertible in under 30 seconds, the C70 makes you feel like you bought two cars for the price of one!
All you have to do is shift into parking gear, press a button that will unlock the top, re-track it all the way back hiding it into the trunk, and you
are ready to enjoy the beautiful weather.
While trying the big cat in both modes, we felt like we had actually switched vehicles, while still being seated and relaxed in our seats. Who says you can’t have the best of both worlds?
The Interior:
Once you slide yourself into the C70, the first thing you will notice is the quality of build and its solid interior. Pulling its perfectly designed door towards me reminded me again that I was enjoying a Swedish master piece.
The C70 is made to seat 4 passengers in comfort, after all its the one and only 4 seater hardtop
convertible, and with the added Scandinavian ambience that will ensure peak relaxation levels once inside the car.
On the techie side the C70 is fully loaded with a Radio system, 6-CD changer with MP3 and WAV
capabilities, 12 Dynaudio loudspeakers, Bolby Pro Logic surround sound, AUX input-jack, iPod, and
USB connections.
The Volvo C70 also features an integrated phone over Bluetooth, and Road and Traffic Information
system.
While the leather seats feel rich and smooth to the touch, they also possess great ergonomic design
which support the body during long hours of driving, so that will ensure that you won’t feel tired
from long trips.
Performance:
The Volvo C70 packs a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine, which can produce 230 hp at 5000 RPM, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 sec with the automatic transmission.
It sports a front-wheel drive, with a speed-dependent power-assisted steering.
The car has a Power-assisted anti-lock breaks, that would help insure short stopping distances in all conditions, the C70 features EBA which helps you
use the breaks to the full in an emergency situation, while the EBD system helps distribute the breaking effect between all wheels.
When we tried the C70 around corners, we noticed superb smooth handling around edges.
Safety:
Volvo is legendary for that, and till date they have
never compromised on this aspect. The C70 is no exception, being the big cool cat on Volvo’s food
chain. When we tested it we were told that this coupe/ convertible could even be the safest Volvo.
What’s Up Conclusion:
We truly had fun trying this great coupe, we were even told by Zahid Volvo that all the available C70s in the Saudi market come fully loaded with every feature out there, leaving little room for added features,
and with the price mark we think that this is a great bargain. The C70 is definitely worth a try, so contact Zahid Volvo Cars on 800 244 1114 for booking up your test drive.
